Just recently The National Fitness Hall of Fame honored Dr. Bob Delmonteque, ND with their Lifetime Achievement Award. It is more than well deserved. If you wish a long, robust life then Bob is the person to emulate and whose life you should study.
Bob is known as America's premier senior fitness consultant. Born in 1919, he started lifting weights in his early teens and appeared on his first magazine cover in 1939. A lifelong bodybuilder, his awe-inspiring photos have graced the covers and pages of magazines ever since.
Through the years he has served as doctor and trainer to the movie stars and professional athletes, alike. He, also, was astronaut John Glenn's personal trainer in the 1960s and again in 1998 when Senator Glenn made his heroic return to space. Bob was also part-owner/operator of Executive Health Clubs International which operated 500 health clubs worldwide.
Most importantly for us, Bob is an example of how to slow and reverse aging and live life to the fullest. At age 65 he noticed he was beginningto lose muscle tone, definition and mass. He decided he needed to grow younger and devised a program to do so. It must have worked because he says that at age 78 he was in the best shape of his life. At age 80 he had more muscle mass than he'd ever had as proven by the photos of him through the years. The 82-year-old Bob bench pressed 300 pounds; and all through his 70s and at age 80 he ran a 26.2-mile marathon each year.
To say that Bob has stayed amazingly fit through the years is an understatement of massive proportions.
